Pride 2026

Throughout June and July, the Brunswick team was proud to attend Pride events across Calderdale and Kirklees, joining thousands of people to celebrate LGBTQ+ communities while promoting health, wellbeing and inclusion.

Over Pride season, our teams were out and about at Batley, Huddersfield, Happy Valley and Holmfirth Pride, meeting people from across our communities and sharing information about the wide range of services and projects available through Brunswick and Well Proud.

Across each event, we had the pleasure of chatting with attendees about sexual health, HIV support and prevention, LGBTQ+ wellbeing, and so much more! We were also please to offer free, rapid and confidential HIV testing at Happy Valley Pride, helping make testing more accessible in community settings.

Our Pride stalls were filled with information, resources, plenty of giveaways and held space for some meaningful and important conversations. We spoke with people discovering our services for the first time, reconnected with those who have previously accessed support and welcomed partners, volunteers, and other community organisations who help strengthen LGBTQ+ health and wellbeing in our local area.

Many people stopped by to find out more about Queer Bits while others learned about LEVEL, DRAG, Queer as Smoke and the wider Well Proud programme. These conversations highlighted the importance of accessible, inclusive health information.

We also attended Deighton Carnival this year! Our team spoke to local residents about HIV prevention, testing and sexual health.

Throughout the day we shared information about our HIV service, answered questions, and promoted the support available through Brunswick. We also handed out bags, wristbands and other giveaways. It was a great opportunity to meet people, start conversations and raise awareness of the support available in the local community.

Thank you to everyone who came to say hello, completed a HIV test, picked up resources, shared their experiences or simply stopped by for a chat! We'd also like to thank the organisers, volunteers, and partner organisations behind event Pride event for creating such welcoming and inclusive spaces!

If you didn't get chance to speak to us at Pride this year, you can still explore our services, access support or get involved by browsing our website!
