We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and dedicated LGBTQ+ Training Volunteer(s) to support The Brunswick Centre’s LGBTQ+ training and education programmes.
As a Training Volunteer, you will play a key role in helping us deliver high-quality presentations and workshops to a range of participants. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about awareness raising, improving LGBTQ+ lives and community engagement.
You do not need to have any prior training or facilitation experience, as this role will include the opportunity to be upskilled and to take on facilitating if you wish and at your own pace.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Assist in Training Delivery: Support the LGBTQ+ Trainer in the delivery of training sessions and workshops. This includes setting up training materials, facilitating group activities, and assisting with presentations
- Participant Support: Provide one-on-one or small group support to participants during training sessions and workshops. Assist with questions, help clarify training content and ensure a positive learning environment.
- Administrative Tasks: Help with training admin, including preparing attendance records and collecting participant feedback.
- Technical Support: Offer basic technical assistance to participants and trainers, helping ensure that all sessions run smoothly
- Be an ambassador for The Brunswick Centre: While out training for The Brunswick Centre you are representing us and the communities we support. Be positive, friendly and personable in all interactions.
Person Specification:
- Knowledge of LGBTQ+ language, experiences, and the challenges that the community faces
- Passion for Education: A strong interest in education, awareness raising and tackling stigma.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to last-minute changes, to the needs in the classroom, and to travel to different locations.
- Resilience: Ability to respond to challenging scenarios with professionalism.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Organisational Skills: Strong organisational abilities and forward planning skills
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
