Trustees' Awareness Week

Trustees Week WB

Trustees’ Awareness Week (3–7 November 2025) is a national campaign celebrating the vital contribution trustees make to charities across the UK. It’s a chance to highlight the leadership, governance, and impact of our board at The Brunswick Centre, and to thank them for their commitment and service.

This week we're shining a spotlight on our trustees, celebrating their impact and raising awareness of the difference trustees make.

Being a trustee at The Brunswick Centre is a chance for me to give something back to the communities that we serve and that I am a part of. It has enriched my life, given me new perspectives and allowed me to develop immensely as a volunteer, as a leader and as a human being. Trustees are vital to the continued running of charities like The Brunswick Centre, so please consider contributing your skills, experience and time by becoming one.

Tom Mapplethorpe, Trustee

My work and life experiences have given me an understanding of the profound negative impact of health inequalities. As a trustee we strategically & systematically address barriers and begin to tackle health inequities. I am committed to support the work, and be responsible for, the good governance of The Brunswick Centre. The trusteeship gives me a strong sense of connection to my local community, and enables me to contribute to an investment in both the young and vulnerable.

Phil Greenham, Trustee

I have recently joined the board of Trustees at The Brunswick Centre after our family received support from them during lockdown. I am extremely proud to be a trustee at this small but mighty charity. Their services are now more essential than ever as the communities they serve face ever increasing barriers as a result of a barrage of attacks on LGBT+ protections that were fought so hard for. I wish these services were no longer needed and we lived in a society that celebrates diversity and protects our most vulnerable. Until then I am honoured to have the opportunity to help The Brunswick Centre deliver its essential and life saving services.

Kathryn Hincliff, Trustee

I became a trustee at The Brunswick Centre because I am passionate about supporting an organisation that makes a real difference to the lives of LGBTQ+ people. Their work around promoting equality, inclusion and wellbeing for LGBTQ+ youth, and those impacted by HIV, aligns so strongly with my own values. As a trustee, I contribute my experience and skills to shape strategic decisions, and ultimately is a great opportunity to develop as a volunteer and personally.

Harry Duggan, Trustee

I really enjoy being the Chair of The Brunswick Centre’s Board of Trustees. I joined Brunswick because I believe collective care includes mutual aid, which includes sharing our skills and experience with the charities and non-profits we care about. And I've stayed because my voice is heard and valued here. We don’t see the well-being of our service users in a vacuum, we know that for all of us to thrive, we must also show up in actions and resistance towards social, LGBTQ+, racial, migrant and environmental justice. And we know that change starts locally, so I invite everyone who wants to build a fairer, kinder and better world to become a trustee and ensure their voices are heard too.
