Meet the Panellists!
Hear from our incredible Trans Role Models, speaking at our panel event on Tuesday 13th June 2023! But first, here's a bit of background information from some of our speakers:
Lee
My name is Lee Lester (He/Him), and I am a 38-year-old Trans man who currently lives in Sheffield.
I also work for a national charity who support trans youth. I am an avid Football fan and spend all my spare time playing, coaching or watching football. I am married and have two adoptive children. Really looking forward to sharing my experiences with you all!
Benji
Hi, I'm Benji, I'm 27 and non-binary. I came out when I was 19 and I've been on testosterone for almost 6 years.
I am proudly queer and love working within my community whenever I can. In my down time I love to play video games and crochet as well as going wild swimming with my girlfriend and mates!
Vicky
Hi, I'm Vicky or Vix for short.
I am a 46 year old Post-op Trans woman who successfully transitioned 4 years ago, and haven't looked back ever since and was a dream come true for me. I am also an activist and have done many things in this role, including Assemblies in schools, public speaking, demos, and hosting Trans Day of remembrance in my home City of Sheffield.
My day job is currently in Security which is quite a macho world, but I seem to get treat alright, but looking to change soon. I look forward to meeting you all soon and answering any questions or concerns you may have for your young person
Sebastian Mann
My name is Sebastian Mann, I am from Scarborough but moving to Castleford in the near future. I have been socially transitioning almost 2 years, and medically almost a year! I recently had top surgery, which has not only changed my life but also saved it.
My passions are fitness, I am working towards becoming a gym instructor and personal trainer. With the hope of going self employed, to help and empower everybody but most importantly the LGBTQ+ community. I share my journey through social media, where I talk about my transition, mental health and fitness. I try to be as authentic as possible even in my videos and posts. I am very real, raw and honest. I enjoy speaking to people, to help them realise things do get better and to never give up hope.
Love is love 🏳️🌈 Do everything... regret nothing! You only have one life, go live it on your terms! Do what makes you happy!
Sharon Jackson
My name is Sharon Jackson and I’m the proud supporter of a transgender man. I am very much a campaigner for the LGBTQ+ community and it was one of the areas I focused on as a DEI advocate in a global company. I now work as a family and funeral celebrant and specialise in services for the LGBTQ+ community.
Jordan Jackson
My name is Jordan and I’m a Huddersfield-based Personal Trainer and
founder of fitness brand Stealth Fitness, which offers an inclusive and private
environment for people from all walks of life to enjoy fitness training together.
I would describe myself as an advocate and an educator. I strongly believe
that calm communication and education are paramount to promoting LGBT+
rights. If people are to accept what they don’t understand, then there needs to
be a level of open communication where they feel safe to ask questions - this
is where I come into play as I love to have these conversations with non-LGBT+ people.
Without my loving family’s support, I would not have had the success and the courage to achieve what I have done in my 32 years.
