Chemsex Awareness
Risks, Harm Reduction and Support
Friday 9 October 2026 - 9am to 1.30pm - Huddersfield
As part of our DRAG initiative, we are offering a free practical training session exploring chemsex, the associated risks, harm reduction approaches and the support available.
The session is designed to help professionals build their understanding of chemsex and feel more confident having informed, non-judgemental conversations with people who may be affected.
It will explore what chemsex is, some of the reasons people may engage in it, potential physical and mental health risks, safer approaches and harm reduction, and the services and support available to people who may need help.
The training will be led by Darren Murphy from Forward Leeds, who brings professional expertise alongside personal insight into chemsex and recovery.
DRAG stands for Discovery, Resilience, Acceptance and Growth and is Brunswick’s LGBTQ+ substance use initiative, developed to improve awareness, understanding and access to inclusive support - in partnership with Change, Grow, Live.
