Calderdale yOUTh Service Research

This Year 1 interim report from Sheffield Hallam University, authored by Eleanor Formby, Drew Simms and Max Kirk, explores the delivery and impact of the yOUTh service in Calderdale.

Drawing on interviews and discussions with LGBTQ+ young people and Brunswick staff, the report provides an early snapshot of the experiences, challenges and opportunities facing LGBTQ+ young people locally. It also examines how yOUTh supports young people through safe spaces, trusted relationships, information, community connection and youth-led activities.

As part of an ongoing three-year research project, the findings will help inform the future development of the service and strengthen understanding of LGBTQ+ young people’s lives in Calderdale.
