Lily Huggins

Lily joined the board in 2023.

Lily graduated with a BSc in Management but quickly decided that she wanted to pursue a career working with communities and addressing inequalities. She has delivered a range of health and wellbeing services for LGBT communities (including late night outreach, sexual health and rapid HIV testing) and also has experience managing and developing services for people with multiple and complex needs (including rough sleepers and refugees and asylum seekers). She has experience developing training for both communities and health and social care professionals, including around healthy relationships, chemsex and advocacy.

Lily currently works as a senior leader in a charity serving Greater Manchester. Her main area of expertise is advocacy services and she has developed a range of innovative and inclusive services in this area, including culturally appropriate advocacy (for People of Colour accessing mental health services) and advocacy for inpatients with learning disabilities and/or autism. She also volunteers with an organisation that provides advice and advocacy to people engaging in sex work.

Lily lives in Manchester and enjoys hanging out with her cat, Pat Butcher, going on holiday and collecting political posters that she never gets round to framing.
