Sessional Worker - Outreach (x2)

Join The Brunswick Centre as a Sessional Worker!

We're looking for two passionate people to deliver LGBTQ+ health and HIV prevention outreach across Calderdale and Kirklees. You'll engage with people in nightlife venues, community spaces, and outdoor events—promoting health, harm reduction, and connecting them to the support they need. This will be approx 4 hours per week (flexible).

What you will be doing:

  • Deliver targeted outreach, sharing health information, promoting specific campaigns, and signposting services.
  • Engage LGBTQ+ communities and those at risk of HIV in conversations about sexual health, mental health, wellbeing and other awareness raising matters.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local venues and organisations.
  • Gather insights to inform future services.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience in outreach, health promotion, or community engagement.
  • Knowledge about LGBTQ+ health and social issues and an understanding of HIV
  • Strong communication skills who can connect and build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • The ability to work independently, flexibly, and confidently in nightlife and public settings.
  • The ability to work evenings and weekends as appropriate.
  • A driver with access to a car (travel expenses covered as per policy).
